Why is there no location info in my image? I have allowed location info in the camera, and in the browser.: On iOS, you need to set the camera's image format to "Most Compatible" instead of "High Efficiency".
Can you expand Sagasoda for cigarette/beer/toy machines?: While you are free to upload photos anything, currently Sagasoda is focused on soft drink machines.
What does signing up for an account get me?: With an account, you can edit any machine, including adding and removing drinks. However, you do not need an account to upload images and enter the initial informaton.
Is there a Sagasoda app?: Yes. It is what you are using; the Sagasoda site is (or tries to be) a "Progressive Web App" that can be "installed" on your phone. There are no plans to develop a native app for mobile platforms (iOS, Android), as the current web app does what it is intended for.
What are those images that aren't vending machines?: Those are just interesting images uploaded by the site admin. Regular users, even with accounts, can't designate images as "not a vending machine".
What tech stack does Sagasoda use?: The Sagasoda API server is built with Django REST Framework. The front end is a ReactJS web app. There are also some back end tasks such as processing the images, which run on Python and OpenCV. It all currently runs on a very basic VPS that costs about as much as a bowl of ramen, per month.
